Water Supply System

Water Supply

Providing Clean Water to Okara

Providing safe & healthy water is one of the major functions of WASA Okara. We are committed to ensuring a reliable water supply system that delivers clean, potable water to all residents within our jurisdiction.

Water Treatment Plant

Water Treatment Process

Our water treatment process ensures that the water supplied to your homes is safe for consumption and meets all quality standards. The process involves several stages:

Water is extracted from various sources including deep tube wells, surface water sources, and reservoirs. Our extraction methods are designed to be sustainable and minimize environmental impact.

The extracted water undergoes initial screening to remove large debris and particles. Pre-treatment processes may include aeration to improve water quality before the main treatment.

Chemicals are added to the water to cause small particles to stick together, forming larger particles that can be more easily removed in subsequent treatment steps.

The water flows into sedimentation basins where the flocculated particles settle to the bottom, leaving clearer water at the top.

The water passes through filters made of sand, gravel, and sometimes activated carbon to remove smaller particles, including potentially harmful microorganisms.

Disinfectants such as chlorine are added to kill any remaining pathogens and to provide residual protection as the water travels through the distribution system.

The treated water is stored in reservoirs and overhead tanks before being distributed to homes and businesses through a network of pipes and pumping stations.
